Kyongbokkung Palace was built during the first Yi dynasty and
was king's residence for 200 years. At the end of the 16th century
it counted about 500 buildings during its pinnacle. But after the fights
against the Japanese and the Korean War there were only ten buildings left.
Since 1995 the complex has been restored step by step in order to represent
the conditions during the kingdom of Kojong (1864-1907).
